Wearing a motorcycle helmet is extremely important, and I want to make sure that everyone (especially new riders) learns how important it is and how to get a helmet that fits and will protect you properly. Often, people complain about wearing helmets. They say a helmet is uncomfortable, obstructs their full view of the road and more. My answer to that is that those people haven't found the right helmet. You always need to wear a helmet, so get one that fits right and is comfortable.
To help you determine what helmet to get, I've rounded up a few articles that discuss the importance of helmets and can direct you towards great ones and help you find the helmet that's right for you.
"How to Buy a Motorcycle Helmet" from Motorcyclecruiser.com
Buying a helmet is a daunting task. This guide put together by Motorcyclecruiser.com goes is a light dig into each thing you need to consider when buying a helmet. The article doesn't give specific models but instead tells you what you need to consider when shopping.
"The Definitive Helmet Buying Guide" from Mc-Ams.co.uk
This guide from Motorcycle Accident Management Services over in the UK is another nice guide that focuses on European riders. It goes into SHARP standards and discusses many of the needs you need to think about when looking for a good lid. It's an excellent short read.
"Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Motorcycle Helmets" from Lanespitter
This is by far the best article on motorcycle helmets that I've found. It's honest, informative and actually entertaining. While the other two articles are good if you don't have a lot of time to read something and just want a brief overview, this article digs deep and really stays true to its title. If you only want to read one (long) article, this is what you should read.
