The Suzuki VanVan has been around for a number of years around the world but it never made its way to the states. However, Suzuki will finally bring this little, scrambler motorcycle stateside and it will be one of the best starter bikes you can buy, as long as you don't need to do much highway cruising.
Personally, I love the look of this bike. It's retro styling and comfy-looking seat make me think this is the kind of little bike you could tear around on for hours without wearing yourself out too much. That is the kind of bike I love and the kind of motorcycle I recommend to beginning riders.
The electronically fuel-injected 200cc engine is a mix of a simple design and newer technology. It has an oil cooler to aid in keeping the engine at the proper temperature. This should help keep this bike extremely reliable and long lasting as well. The engine is mated to a traditional five-speed gearbox, making it an excellent bike to learn how to ride and shift.
The VanVan 200 won't be suitable for interstate riding, but it'll be hard to find a better bike for zooming around town. It's great styling and two color options (blue and matte gray) add to its already considerable charm. Keep an eye out for these bikes at your local Suzuki dealer. A brand new VanVan 200 will go for $4,599 and comes with a 12-month, unlimited mileage warranty.
