The Harley-Davidson Street models are some of the bike makers coolest motorcycles in my opinion, but they didn't seem to do what the company had hoped: bring in new riders. That's a shame because the bikes are reasonably affordable and bad ass.
Harley's latest effort with this bike line is the Street Rod, a kind of styled-up version of its street motorcycle. It looks a lot more aggressive and sporty than the previous HD Street models. The bike honestly reminds me of something that would come from Buell back when that company was still around.
The HD Street Rod features beefed up components and a bit more powerful 750cc V-twin engine. It's still an HD Street and is still liquid cooled but Harley has done a good job ramping up the bad ass factor of the bike, making it the kind of thing I think more people are really going to want to ride. Time will tell if this strategy works.
The Street Rod starts at $8,699. While you won't be able to find used versions of this bike out there for a while. There are some of the regular Harley Street bikes out there used.
